Where is Elizabeth Lucas Bridal located?

You will find us at 22A North Bar Without, Beverley, HU17 7AB, in East Yorkshire. We welcome brides from Beverley, Hull, York and further afield. Visits are by appointment; please contact us to arrange yours.

Do I need an appointment to try on wedding dresses?

Yes. An appointment gives you dedicated time and personal styling advice as you explore dresses and bridal separates. You do not need to know your preferred style before you visit. Request a time through our booking form and we will confirm it with you.

How much is a bridal appointment?

Appointments cost £10 on weekdays and £20 at weekends. Submit your preferred date and time through the booking form. Payment is requested only after we confirm your appointment.

When should I start shopping for my wedding dress?

We recommend starting your wedding dress search around 9 to 12 months before your wedding where possible. This allows time for your gown to be ordered, delivered and altered to achieve the perfect fit. However, if your wedding is sooner, please still get in touch. Depending on the designer and gown, shorter lead times may be available and we may also have options suitable for brides planning a wedding on a tighter timescale.

What styles of wedding dresses do you stock?

Our collections include A-line and fitted gowns, ball gowns, corset bodices and bridal separates. Browse the dress catalogue to explore lace, satin and contemporary designs, then save the styles you would like to discuss at your appointment.

Do you stock corset-style wedding dresses?

Yes. Corset wedding dresses are a major part of our collection. We stock bridal gowns featuring structured corset bodices, exposed boning, sheer corsetry, sweetheart necklines, scoop necklines and sculpted Basque or drop waists. Corset-style wedding dresses are perfect for brides who want a gown that feels structured and supportive while creating a beautifully defined silhouette. You will find corset details across everything from romantic lace wedding dresses to clean satin gowns, fitted dresses and dramatic ball gowns.

Do you stock Basque waist and drop waist wedding dresses?

Yes. We have a beautiful selection of Basque waist wedding dresses and drop waist bridal gowns. These silhouettes are particularly popular with brides looking for a modern, fashion-forward shape. A Basque or drop waist can visually elongate the torso and create a beautifully sculpted hourglass silhouette. Our collection includes Basque waist ball gowns, fitted Basque waist dresses, corset wedding dresses and drop waist A-line gowns in lace, satin, Mikado and other luxury bridal fabrics.

Do you stock A-line wedding dresses?

Yes. A-line wedding dresses are one of the most versatile and flattering bridal silhouettes. Our collection ranges from soft and romantic lace A-line wedding dresses to clean, structured Mikado and satin A-line gowns. We also stock contemporary A-line styles featuring corset bodices, square necklines, scoop necklines, sweetheart necklines, drop waists, Basque waists and statement trains.

Do you stock fitted wedding dresses?

Yes. If you love a more figure-hugging silhouette, we stock a selection of fitted wedding dresses, fit-and-flare bridal gowns, sheath wedding dresses and trumpet-style gowns. These styles can range from sleek, minimalist satin dresses to intricately detailed lace gowns. Many feature modern bridal details including corset bodices, draped satin, ruching, illusion lace, detachable sleeves, pearl embellishment and thigh-high leg splits.

Do you stock lace wedding dresses?

Absolutely. Lace remains one of our favourite bridal fabrics. Our collection includes Chantilly lace wedding dresses, corded lace gowns, floral lace wedding dresses and Alençon lace bridal gowns. You will find lace used across everything from romantic A-line dresses and fitted gowns to contemporary corset dresses and dramatic ball gowns. For brides who love softer bridal styling, we also offer dresses with eyelash lace, scalloped lace edging, illusion lace bodices and lace-trimmed trains.

Do you stock satin wedding dresses?

Yes. We stock a range of satin wedding dresses for brides who love clean, elegant and minimalist bridal styling. Our collection includes soft satin, stretch satin, Mikado, charmeuse and structured satin gowns. Whether you are searching for a simple satin wedding dress, fitted satin bridal gown, satin ball gown, strapless satin dress or modern drop waist wedding dress, our collection includes both understated and statement designs.

Do you stock minimalist and clean wedding dresses?

Yes. We love minimalist wedding dresses and clean bridal styling. Our modern bridal collection includes sleek satin gowns, structured Mikado wedding dresses, simple A-line silhouettes and beautifully draped fitted gowns. Clean wedding dresses can still have incredible detail. Look out for architectural necklines, corset bodices, dramatic Basque waists, sculpted seams, pearl detailing, buttons and statement trains.

Do you stock boho wedding dresses?

Yes. Brides looking for a softer, more relaxed aesthetic can explore our selection of boho wedding dresses and romantic lace bridal gowns. Think lightweight fabrics, soft tulle, delicate floral lace, effortless A-line silhouettes, illusion bodices and beautifully relaxed detailing. We can also help style a boho bridal look with accessories including lace veils, soft bridal veils and statement accessories.

Do you stock ball gown wedding dresses?

Yes. For brides who want drama, we stock a selection of ball gown wedding dresses and full-skirt bridal gowns. Our collection includes modern satin ball gowns, lace ball gowns, corseted wedding dresses and structured A-line designs. Details such as drop waists, Basque waists, scoop necklines, square necklines, pearl embellishment and detachable overskirts give the traditional bridal ball gown a much more contemporary feel.

Do you stock strapless wedding dresses?

Yes. We stock many strapless wedding dresses, including sweetheart necklines, scoop necklines, square necklines and straight-neck corset gowns. A strapless bridal gown can create a beautifully clean neckline and works particularly well with statement jewellery, bridal gloves, detachable sleeves or a dramatic wedding veil.

Do you have wedding dresses with sleeves?

Yes. Some of our wedding dresses feature sleeves, while others can be styled with detachable bridal sleeves. Detachable lace sleeves are particularly popular because they allow you to create two different wedding-day looks — for example, romantic long lace sleeves for the ceremony and a strapless gown for the evening.

Do you stock wedding dresses with leg splits?

Yes. We stock modern wedding dresses with leg splits, including fitted, draped and lace bridal gowns. A thigh-high split can give a traditional bridal silhouette a more contemporary and confident feel while also allowing additional movement through the skirt.

Do you stock wedding dresses with detachable overskirts?

Yes. Wedding dresses with detachable overskirts are perfect for brides who want two bridal looks in one. A fitted wedding dress can be transformed into a dramatic ball gown for the ceremony before the overskirt is removed for the reception. We love detachable bridal styling because it gives you versatility without needing to purchase a completely separate second wedding dress.

Do you sell wedding veils?

Yes. We offer bridal veils to complete your wedding-day look. Depending on your dress and personal style, we can help you choose from lace wedding veils, cathedral veils, long bridal veils, simple veils and statement veils. Your veil should complement your wedding dress rather than compete with it, so we can help you consider lace placement, length, fabric and overall styling.

Do you sell bridal accessories?

Yes. Alongside wedding dresses, we can help complete your bridal look with carefully selected bridal accessories. Depending on the gown, this may include wedding veils, lace veils, pearl accessories, bridal chokers, detachable sleeves, bridal scarves and overskirts. Accessories are a brilliant way of making your wedding dress feel personal to you.

What wedding dress neckline should I choose?

There is no single neckline that works for every bride, which is why trying different shapes is so useful. Our collection includes sweetheart wedding dresses, scoop neck bridal gowns, square neck wedding dresses, straight necklines, off-the-shoulder wedding dresses and strapless corset styles. Your stylist can help you compare different shapes and find the neckline that makes you feel most confident.

What wedding dress shape is most flattering?

The most flattering wedding dress is the one that makes you feel incredible. Different silhouettes create very different effects. A-line wedding dresses offer soft balance and movement, fit-and-flare gowns follow the figure, sheath wedding dresses create a long clean line and ball gowns emphasise the waist with additional volume through the skirt. Corsetry, Basque waists, drop waists, ruching and carefully positioned lace can also completely change how a dress shapes the body. Rather than limiting yourself to one silhouette before your appointment, we recommend trying a variety.

I don't know what style of wedding dress I want. Is that okay?

Completely. You do not need to arrive knowing whether you want a lace wedding dress, satin gown, A-line dress, corset bridal gown or fitted wedding dress. Part of your appointment is discovering which silhouettes, necklines, fabrics and details feel most like you. Sometimes the dress you would never have chosen from a photograph becomes the one you cannot stop thinking about once you put it on.

What should I wear to my bridal appointment?

Wear comfortable, seamless underwear; nude tones can be helpful under lighter or illusion fabrics. Bring wedding shoes if you already have them, but they are not essential. Come ready to try different shapes and discover what feels right for you.

Who should I bring to my wedding dress appointment?

Bring the people whose opinions you genuinely trust and who will help make the experience enjoyable. Too many opinions can sometimes make choosing your wedding dress more difficult, so a smaller group often creates a more relaxed bridal appointment. Remember that ultimately your wedding dress needs to feel right for you.

What sizes of wedding dresses do you stock?

Our designers offer gowns across a range of bridal sizes, and many styles are available in an extensive size range. Wedding dress sizing can differ from normal high-street clothing sizes, so please do not worry about the number on the label. During your appointment, we focus on how each gown fits, feels and can be ordered for you rather than the sample size itself.

Can wedding dresses be altered?

Yes. Bridal alterations are a normal part of achieving the final fit of your wedding dress. Common wedding dress alterations include adjusting the length, refining the bodice, altering straps, improving bust support and perfecting the overall fit. Some gowns may also allow additional personalisation depending on the designer and construction.
